Jimmy’s Shed

Jimmy’s Shed is a really lovely converted and listed building which dates back to 1650 and overlooks the paddocks on the working stud farm in Hingham, Mid Norfolk. 

Set in some of the most tranquil settings you’ll find in Norfolk, this is a wonderfully private 1 bedroomed dog friendly cottage. 

Here’s the perfect chance to escape from your busy lives and come and relax in the peaceful surroundings of rural Norfolk countryside.   

Imagine sitting outside with a drink and watching the new born foals, or relaxing in the outdoor hot tub as one of the mares overlooks the fence to see what you’re up to!  

This particular property is part of three other unique properties at Manor Farm Stays and owned by Charlie and Alice Mason, a wonderfully warm and welcoming couple who own and run the stud farm.

Jimmy’s Shed

This wonderfully self-contained cottage was called Jimmy’s Shed for no other reason than at one time it housed Jimmy, an old stallion!  So, while you relax and enjoy your stay here, it’s great to think how this listed building was once a stable (many years ago!) – lucky horses!   

But in no way is it a shed today!

It has been imaginatively renovated by Alice to a high standard, with lime plastering on the outside (due to its listed status), with many reclaimed and salvaged items such as a school chemistry lab work top (yes, you can even see initials!) as well as the doors and windows being salvaged too.  

The layout is all open plan, with a wonderfully comfortable super king size bed neatly placed against one wall with a floor to ceiling window on one side, giving you every reason to stay in bed with a cup of tea and just enjoy the view!! 

The bathroom has as shower, basin and WC along with a heated rail and you’re even provided with your own bath robes for the duration of your stay.  You’ll find that every little detail has been thought about. 

And if you are lacking anything, all you have to do is ask Alice, as they live in the main farm house which you’ll see when you arrive.

The Secluded Garden

This superb converted building is very private, with fencing around the property making it safe for your dog as well!   

The lovely quiet garden overlooks one of the paddocks, and has a BBQ for your own use, a fire pit to keep you warm when it’s a little chilly, wooden table and chairs and even a hot tub for your own use. 

What a way to enjoy a break away!
