This Sheringham short break walking holiday gives you a chance to explore the wonderful Victorian seaside town of  Sheringham as well as having 2 wonderful walks with amazing views, along the coast, up into the historic woodlands and heathlands of the surrounding areas and staying in a lovely local B&B.   

The walks will take you

  • alongside an ancient Priory established in 1216
  • a few Commons, heath land, woodlands
  • through a beautiful National Trust Park with wonderful gardens designed by the world renowned Humphry Repton
  • alongside the North Norfolk Railway which runs steams engines (of which you might catch a glimpse).   
  • And finally you will be walking along the beautiful cliff tops of the North Norfolk Coast.

  • Your stay will be in a local B&B in Sheringham and a few minutes walk from the beach and promenade.

    Day 1

    Take an 6-7 mile (approx.) walk away from the middle of Sheringham, passing the point of an old WWII Wireless Interceptor station and head on up through woodland to the highest point in Norfolk at The Roman Camp. Descend back along the heathland of Incleborough Hill where you can enjoy vast sweeping views over to Cromer. Walking back to the coastline via the village of West Runton, an important landmark where the fossils of a Steppe Mammoth were discovered in 1990, and finish walking along a stretch of the Norfolk Coast Path.

    Day 2

    This is an 8-9 mile (14.5km) circular walk. Our suggested itinerary for day 2 is a lovely circular walk which takes you past an ancient priory, through common land, heathland and woodland and into the beautiful Sheringham Park, up into the Gazebo with far reaching views over the North Norfolk Coast and back along the Norfolk Coast Path and along the cliffs and the edge of Sheringham golf course back into Sheringham.

    Sheringham is situated on the North Norfolk Coast about 55 minutes north of Norwich on the A140/A149.

    Car parking:
    Car parking is available if we know in advance.

    By Rail:
    To/from Sheringham: Sheringham has a railway station served by the Abellio Greater Anglia network. Trains run to and from Norwich. To reach London you would need to change at Norwich for onward travel.
