Norfolk beaches - is there just one or many?

Why do you put name labels on what is usually, (at least at low tide), a continuous stretch of unbroken beach pretty much from one end of Norfolk to the other? The last time I spent a Sunday walking from Caister up to Sea Palling I didn't see individual beaches, just the one, although that one beach did happen to pass by a few places that accessed it.

One Norfolk Beach

That's a very good question Andy! I suppose you are correct in your thinking - there is only one coastline for the whole of the UK too, but if you don't put names on the particular beaches then the visitor doesn't really know which village or town to access it from. I think it makes sense to name them. It's a good topic for conversation!
