Horsey seals

Today I had a wonderful experience. True, I had heard about and seen photos of the seals, but never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I’d see them.

There had to be over 200, some frolicking in the sea, others sun bathing

Their admirers (visitors!) were brilliant and kept a good distance back from them, I do so hope everyone does the same so the seals continue to feel relaxed and keep making a home on Horsey beach.

Hi Maureen

Thank you so much for letting us know what a wonderful experience you had watching the seals at Horsey beach. They really are extraordinary aren't they?

And aren't we lucky to be able to see such an incredible sight. The wardens will be up there very soon, or they may already be there. They make sure that visitors keep back behind the ropes and behave so that nature can take its course with the pups! It's so important that we humans don't interfere.

If a mother is frightened and she goes off away from her pup, she won't come back, so it's vital to everyone that we all adhere to the restrictions at this time of year on Horsey beach. And dogs definitely need to be kept on leads.

There will be many more seals later on when pupping season really gets underway.

I'm so glad you enjoyed yourself.
