Good Afternoon,
I recently visited Bridewell Museum in Norwich, or to be more precise "The Museum of Norwich at The Bridewell", and it was honestly so much more than I expected.
Tucked away in an historic former prison building, this fascinating museum tells the story of Norwich and Norfolk through its industries, crafts and people. To some, that might sound a tad boring, but believe me when I say it isn't!
With fascinating displays showing everything from shoemaking and textiles to decorative arts and local trades, it’s a wonderful place to discover the stories and skills that helped shape Norfolk and Norwich. The building itself is full of character too, with plenty of history within its walls; from the prison door to the vaults.
It’s compact enough to enjoy in a couple of hours, making it perfect to combine with lunch or a wander around Norwich’s independent shops and lanes.

Happy exploring!
