Good Afternoon,
Sorry if you don’t have dogs, you may want to skip this newsletter!
If you do have a beloved dog though, I know you love it with all your heart. Just as I do with mine! And there's nothing nicer than watching your dog race across golden sands, ears flapping in the breeze, pure joy radiating from every bound. Here in Norfolk, we're incredibly lucky to have some of the UK's most dog-friendly beaches!
I've spent countless weekends exploring Norfolk's coastline with Mutley, my Norwich Terrier, and previous dogs that I’ve had, and I'm pleased to share our favourite dog-friendly spots with you.
Holkham Beach is very dog friendly, but due to nesting birds, there is now a restriction near Holkham Bay as you come on to the beach, but once beyond that, this is a truly spectacular beach - miles and miles of golden sand backed by pine forests. The vastness of this beach means there's plenty of
space for dogs to run free without disturbing others.
Wells-next-the-Sea, just along from Holkham, is another firm favourite with colourful beach huts and a dog-friendly café in the car park.
Waxham Beach deserves a special mention as a very dog friendly beach and one that is often quieter than some of Norfolk's better-known beaches, giving your dogs even more space to run and explore. The beach is backed by beautiful dunes and grassland, perfect for a varied walk with your dog, and not forgetting a visit to the
Waxham Great Barn and Cafe
after your walk!
Best wishes,
Suzy
