Discover Grime's Graves in Norfolk

Good Afternoon,

Have you ever visited Grime's Graves near Thetford? It's one of Norfolk's more unusual places to explore, and you won't find anywhere else like it in the county.

Thousands of years ago, people dug deep into the chalk here to reach the flint beneath it. Today, you can see the remarkable and very unusual landscape left behind by these prehistoric mines and discover how the flint was extracted.

It's a fascinating place, particularly if you've never come across it before and well worth a visit. You can read an article in which I've written about Grimes Graves here, especially if you'd like to find out a little more before visiting.

Happy exploring!

Suzy

P.S. If you're planning a few days exploring Norfolk, The Old Chapel in Pentney offers somewhere a little different to stay. It's a good base for discovering West Norfolk and venturing further afield to places such as Grime's Graves.
