A Lovely Winter Walk to Try in Norfolk

Good Afternoon,

February is the perfect time to enjoy Norfolk’s quieter countryside, and the popular North Elmham Circular Walk is a very good choice for a refreshing winter stroll. When I mentioned this walk recently, I had no idea it would be this popular, but it really is.

This easy and varied 4.4-mile route is packed with history, lovely views and peaceful rural countryside.

Highlights include the fascinating ruins of North Elmham Chapel, built on the site of a Saxon cathedral, Millennium Wood, and stretches along a former railway line that offer a real sense of Norfolk’s heritage.

You’ll also be able to enjoy quiet lanes, open fields and lovely woodland edges along the way.

The walk is dog-friendly (with some lead walking required) and can be completed in around 1½ to 2 hours. There are also great spots nearby for refreshments, including The King’s Head pub, The Railway Inn and the local café in the village.

Happy exploring!
